Frequently Asked Questions: SIZING

 

What is the correct way to measure?

To get an accurate body measurement, always keep the tape parallel to the floor when measuring. Wear undergarments only; do not measure over clothing. Once you know your body measurements, consult the Size Chart on the product pages to determine which size you should purchase.

1st Measure your bust: List your arms, and wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust. Where the measuring tape overlaps is the measurement that you should use.

2nd Measure your natural waist: Wrap the measuring tape around your natural waist, which is approximately 2 inches above your belly button.

3rd Measure your hips: Measure at the fullest part of your bottom and thighs. See our size chart. You may not line up with one side so choose a size with your largest measurement.

Note: Please keep in mind that manufacturers use different sizing standards to manufacturer the merchandise and sizing may vary accordingly.

 

Do you do alterations?

We do not provide alteration services. An experienced seamstress/alteration store near you can provide you with necessary alterations.

 

How true to size do your dresses run?

Most of our prom dresses run slightly larger than actual size. For example, if you are looking at a certain style in Medium, that Medium sized dress will run just slightly bigger than the average Medium you find at department stores, etc. The styles starting with "S", however, are the exception. These run just slightly smaller than actual size. Keep in mind that over 90% of special occasion dresses need alterations. We are not responsible for dresses that do not fit. The size charts are direct from the manufacturers and they cut their dresses according to those size measurements. If you are in between sizes we recommend going up a size as it's easier to take in a dress than let a dress out.

Size Chart & Measurements (What size should I get?)

Please read carefully the page of the dress you are interested. Some dresses are measured differently, and it is mentioned on each page. To determine your size, start with the waist size. Waist size is the most important, and then busts size, then hip size. For most dresses, heights of dresses are made for person of height 5'7". Please keep in mind that alteration is done in most cases for special occasion dresses.

If I place an order today, when will I be receiving my product?

Allow one day for processing. For domestic standard ground shipping, it takes 5-7 business days. In the event that your order CANNOT go out the next business day, we will contact you immediately, so please provide a number where you can be reached at all times.

How do I get my 2-3 Day Free Shipping?

You will receive automatic free 2-3 day shipping on your total purchase of $100 USD or more. Total purchase amount is calculated before taxes and shipping and handling. Method of promotional free shipping will be USPS 2-3 Day Priority Mail (2-3 business days in most places). Offer is good for one destination to all Valid U.S address **including P.O Box, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands **. Please note that we do not process or ship orders on Saturday, Sunday or holidays. Free 2-3 day Shipping is not valid with previous purchases. This offer may not be combined with other promotional offers.  This is limited time offer and other restrictions may apply.

Discounted orders: If for some reason you wish to return or exchange an item and you received free shipping for this item, a shipping charge of $13.75 will be deducted from the amount credited back to you. If for some reason you wish to return or exchange an item and the amount of merchandise kept after the return does not reach the minimum requirement for the original discount given in the order, the discount amount will be properly deducted from the refund. For example, if any items are returned on an order that was granted the promotional free shipping with a minimum purchase of $100, and a return is made with the remaining order kept being less than $100 a shipping fee will be charged for all items on the original order.

 

When will my dress be shipped?

Most orders are shipped within one to three business days after you place your order, provided the product(s) ordered are in stock in our main warehouse. Orders will not be not processed, shipped, or delivered on Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays. If the wear date is within 10 business days of your order date, we encourage you to choose an expedited shipping option. We do not guarantee arrival date of an order. Once an order is placed, the shipping option that was selected on the order can no longer be changed. USPS does not guarantee arrival time of Priority Mail.

 

How can I track the status of my order?

After your order is shipped, you will automatically receive an email from USPS with the tracking number.

 

Do you ship to other Countries?  How much is it?

Can I have USPS hold my package or re-route it to a different address?

USPS cannot ship to a different address once the package is in route.

 

How fast will I get my order with USPS Priority Shipping?

Most orders are shipped within one to three business days after you place your order, provided the product(s) ordered are in stock in our main warehouse. USPS Priority Shipping usually takes 2-3 business days. If the wear date is within 10 business days of your order date, we encourage you to choose an expedited shipping option. Does USPS ship on Saturdays?

Yes, USPS only ships packages Monday through Saturday. They do not ship on Sundays and all National Holidays.

 

 

Do you require someone to sign for the package?

We do not require a signature unless you contact us to let us know before shipping. Extra fee may apply.

 

Does USPS ship to a P.O. Box?

USPS will ship to any valid address within U.S. and this includes P.O. Box. Other restrictions may apply.

 

I'm on vacation; can you ship it to me here?

We apologize for any inconvenience. We do not ship to any Motels, Hotels, and/or Resorts.  If you place an order with the shipping destination as any of the mentioned, your order will be held until we obtain a physical address from you.

How can I find out if an item is available?

Please give us a call at our toll free number, 1-888-331-4532, and we will gladly assist you in determining the availability of a style you are interested in. You can also email us and you should receive an answer that same day or the next business day at the latest.

When am I charged?

You will not be charged if item is not available or sold out. Charging or "capturing" is done when item is shipped. When your order is processed, your card will only be "authorized" showing "pending" status, which will drop off automatically if not "captured". The correct amount will be "captured" when item is shipped. Please be assured that we have sophisticated system for highly accurate and reliable accounting.


I placed an order on your website and it was declined. Why?

Please make sure that you write down the correct billing information. One thing to check is the CVV (security code on your credit card), and the billing address. Always double check your billing address information before submitting your order. If you attempt to retry submitting your order more than 2 times, the credit card issuer will automatically lock the account, to prevent further use. In that case, you must contact your credit card issuer, and verify yourself to release the lock on the account.

All orders that have been declined are not valid transactions, and we do not receive ANY payment on our end. If you see that your card has been charged despite being declined, please allow 1-2 days for your bank to release the funds back to your account. If you do not see a credit on your statement, you must contact your credit card issuer and see to it that they are not holding the funds from being returned to your account.

What types of Payment do you accept?

We accept most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AMEX. We also accept PAYPAL.

 

Do you accept foreign credit cards?

We do not accept foreign credit card, please use PayPal.


Why do I need to pay tax in California?

Our company is based in California and it is state law that anything purchased in the state of California is subject to state tax.

 

Where are the dresses made?

Most of our dresses are made in the U.S.A. Silk dresses and sequence dresses are mostly imported from China.

 

The dress I bought last week is on sale today, can I get the sale price?

We do not do price adjustments. We cannot reimburse you for previously purchased items that are presently on sale or that may go on sale in the future.

 

Is there a I Heart Prom Store?

At this time, we do not have a physical retail store. We believe we can accommodate more of our customers through our online store. Please subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates and specials.

 

Where is your store?

Our office/warehouse is located in Los Angeles Fashion District, California.

 

What material are dresses made of?

Almost every dress is made from polyester. Unless mentioned otherwise, material is polyester.

 

Can you send me color swatch?

We do not have any color swatches to mail out. Please use our website.

 

I am looking at a specific dress style, and I am interested in viewing this style in a different color. How can I go about in viewing this?

At this time, we do not have additional images of a style in different colors. We realize what a huge inconvenience this is. However, if you email us the style you are interested in viewing in a different color, we can direct you to another style that will hold a similar shade. Please stay tuned as we are proceeding with future plans to address this problem.

 

How can I get a catalog?

We do not have a physical catalog available. All of our products are available on our website. Please subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates and specials.
